Located on South Campus between the SASB North and South, the NPHC Garden will create a positive environment for National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) organizations to unite in efforts to promote their fraternities and sororities while educating students about the history of these diverse organizations.
The garden will celebrate the nine NPHC fraternities and sororities at Carolina. These organizations have impacted UNC’s campus since the first organization arrived in 1973 with their commitment to civic engagement, leadership, academic achievement, and providing a sense of belonging for students. The garden comes to fruition as Carolina recognizes NPHC’s 45th anniversary on campus.
The fundraising campaign to raise the financial resources needed for the $750,000 project cost will launch during Homecoming 2017 and and the design will be unveiled at Homecoming 2018 in time to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of NPHC at Carolina! This project is projected to take 17 ½ to 19 months once construction starts. Your support is critical, as this project is 100 percent dependent on alumni and other donor support.
Commemorative Brick Program
UNC’s NPHC has established a commemorative brick program to engage NPHC alumni and friends to support and raise awareness and financial resources to build the garden. Donations can be made as a one-time payment or through 12 monthly installments. We encourage each individual NPHC alum to purchase a brick or paver, each chapter line to purchase a paver and each NPHC chapter should have a paver representing the founding of their organization on campus. The goal is to ensure that current and future generations of the Carolina family and NPHC community understand the impact and appreciate the positive legacy that each organization has left on our beloved campus.
All payments should be completed by Homecoming 2019: October 27, 2019.
$500 4×8 Commemorative Engraved Brick
$1,000 8×8 Commemorative Engraved Paver
All donors will be recognized, based on their level of support to the garden, in the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life and in various publications.
